They’ve seen you being lifted out of the chair, when you’re gently placed into a little car, because that’s the only space they allowed you despite your requests, then they told you, despite your lease agreement, that those that any guest that helps you must now park away from the building. You’ve been yelled at, treated with unbelievable unkindness by those that defend the decisions that took away your freedom. How can they justify the unreasonable and illegal and still call themselves persons of empathy, compassion and sacrifice. What kind of trade did they make? Still they refuse to answer to why they took your parking space. WHY did they paint over the required disabled spaces closest to YOUR apartment. These required spaces were a condition of building code passage and approval. The disabled persons parking was meant for you, a paraplegic since you were born. Now, the signs are painted over only at the spaces by the elevator that lifts you to your floor… the specific elevator that’s next to your home. This was the intention of the Americans with Disabilities act, and other laws that cover this. Now, your parking area, the spaces made for your van, your electric wheelchair, giving you freedom to enter your ride, to explore the world… with someone’s conscious choice, such freedom has suddenly disappeared… under white space. Someone’s choice leaves you stuck while luxury bling, in the form of new automobiles, inhabit your space. The remaining blue stripes that show the shortest path to the elevator. You’re parking space area now revoked, and this leaves you relegated to the long path, no blue paint required by any code.
