My family moved to TX from the Caribbean this past summer. My hubby is now in training for a job and as of Jan. 1, 2012 my savings game is on again. I now need to open a college savings account for my step-son he’s 14. I know we are MEGA late in saving for him so we need to step it a HUGE notch. What is the best account to open as we have 3.5 years to get it together…. regular savings account, 529 or a high yield savings account even though the interest rate is crap???
